If evolution is true, does that mean that there are no morals?
Morals exist because of evolution. Humans are social creatures and developed what we call morality to be able to survive in complex social groups. Cooperation and altruism is the only way to succeed in a complex social group. This led to advanced social creatures like humans who later developed such principles as the Golden Rule. Religion later codified these principles into religious notions of morality. (Shermer, The Science of Good and Evil, p. 24-65) (Steven Pinker, “Evolution and Ethics”, Intelligent Thought, p.142-152)
