Is Carbon 14 dating accurate?

It is accurate when used properly. Carbon 14 dating can only be used to date things younger than 50,000 years old, and it can only be used on once living things like wood, bone etc. or carbonate deposits such as tufa. Using Carbon 14 to date objects younger than 150 years will also give bad results due to the carbon released in the atmosphere since the Industrial Revolution. Please see here and here.

Carbon 14 dating has been tested repeatedly and it is confirmed by other dating methods. Tree ring dating, which goes back 8,000 years, has calibrated Carbon 14. Please see here. Carbon 14 dating has also been verified by testing things on which the age was already known. Multiple samples from the objects were tested, and they gave consistent results.
